The World Series of Poker, or the WSOP as our friends call it, is a constellation of rules that keep the world’s most important poker event running smoothly and satisfying the thousands of fans who come to attend.
While many of the rules seem to be well known, there are some that are not so well known, and here we show you.
Players who speak aggressively at the table may be reprimanded.
According to Official Rules, if a game cannot be played due to weather or other reasons such as computer virus, unauthorized interference, technical failure or cheating, the game may be canceled, modified or suspended.
Five specific sanctions may be imposed on players who violate the WSOP’s “Competitive Integrity.”
- Too much talking is a crime.
If you are the type of person who likes to talk about life at the poker table, be careful, because if you talk too much, someone may ask you to be punished.
- Marijuana and cryptocurrencies are not allowed at televised poker tables.
Many players wear badges on special tables to advertise poker rooms, training tools, or other businesses. However, there are rules stating that the WSOP reserves the right to ban any “offensive” attire.
As stated in the WSOP rules, this includes any clothing with images or logos related to cryptocurrencies and cannabis products.
- What happens if you get a wild card in your hand?
This probably won’t happen at WSOP 2 023 given the absence of wild cards. Any game involving clowns. However, if by any of these coincidences in life, you get the missing wild in the deck, your deck is pronounced dead.
- You Can Talk About Your Hands
If you like to bluff with your voice, you know you can, which means you can talk about what you say you have in your hand, but this is only allowed in heads-up tournaments.
